THE PURPOSE OF THE UNITED RELIGIONS INITIATIVE IS TO PROMOTE ENDURING, DAILY INTERFAITH COOPERATION, TO END RELIGIOUSLY MOTIVATED VIOLENCE AND TO CREATE CULTURE OF PEACE, JUSTICE AND HEALING FOR THE EARTH AND ALL LIVING BEINGS
URI WAS FOUNDED IN THE YEAR 2000 BY AN EXTRAORDINARY GLOBAL COMMUNITY COMMIITTED TO PROMOTINGENDURING DAILY INTERFAITH COOPERATION AND ENDING RELIGIOUDLY MOTIVATED VIOLENCE. IT INCLUDES THOUSANDS OF MEMBERS IN OVER 70 COUNTRIES R4EPRESENTING MORE THAN 120 RELIGIONS SPIRITUAL EXPRESSIONS, AND INDIGENOUS TRADITIONS
The National conference was began on 8th December at 6 pm with opening prayer, introduction, Recognition and welcoming Dinner
2nd day: - 9th December, 2012- The second day was started with Breakfast and opening prayer. The seminar on “Interfaith actions for peace and harmony  by Swami Chaturvedi, Chennai was at 11 am and publish URI India roaster at 12.45 pm
The National conference members visited Tagore’s Shantinikatan at 2 pm on 11th.
10th December, 2012:-
The closing day began at 8 am with breakfast and Morning Prayer. Reflection of the Shantinikatan tour was main programme of that day. Award distribution function and cultural Evening are attractive. 4th day, 11th December, Kerala team members visited Mother Teresa’s home and swami Vivakanda’s memorial
