NEPAL- EDUCATION TOUR

NEPAL- EDUCATION TOUR

4th April 2010 was first day of our tour organized by Youth Society for Peace (YSP) Nepal which is also promoting the values of Global Network of Religion for Children (GNRC). We, 25 teens left Kathmandu with two teachers Mr. Dinesh Dhakal and Ms. Sumitra Yogi along with YSP volunteer Mr. Sujan BK. We had a bus drive of around 6 hours to reach to Gorkha Palace which was historically as well as culturally rich. It is one of the ancient Nepal from where a Shah King saw a dream of uniting small-widely divided Kingdoms Nepal as one and gave us today the identity of Nepalese.

This tour was organized to make us realize about natural beauty,
cultural diversity and historical importance of Nepal and to
collaborate and coordinate to preserve them all going beyond
the religion.

5th April 2010, the second day of the tour was very impressive for me.
Today we almost visited all places of Pokhara including David’s Fall,
Gupteshwor Cave, Fewa Lake, Bindabashini Temple, Mahendra Cave,
Bat Cave and so on which naively encouraged us the greater possibility of Nepal in tourism sector. I was very much surprised that if we manage time than a day is enough to change a society as I a day was enough to visit almost whole touristy part of Pokhara. When we were being told about the beauty of Pokhara something that clicked on my mind was about the challenge for the preservation of this beautiful place.

6th April 2010, the third day of our tour was tiring. We left Pokhara at 5 AM and reached Devghat (a holy place of Nepal where still student study in Gurukul system) at 9 AM. Devghat is religiously and spiritually very rich. The feeling could be felt when we jumped into the cold River called Triveni meaning the meeting point of three rivers. Then we went to see how people in this complex-modern world still practice the ancient rituals and rites at Ashram. The climate was a bit hot for the Kathmandu dwellers. We left Devghat at 11 AM and went to biodiversity and conservation center at Chitwan. We there enjoyed a lot seeing beautiful sunset at Rapti River. At this momentary time I was feeling so connected with nature that I went on looking at the setting sun thinking of its arrival for the next morning.

7th April 2010, this was the last day of our tour. We had elephant riding
inside Sauraha, Chitwan that increased our pulse as we saw one horned rhino
from so near. One of the guides told us about the decreasing number of rhino and its possible effect on Nepal’s economy. This made us sad. We left Chitwan at 10 AM for Kathmandu.

As a whole the tour was interesting and knowledgeable. I personally feel that I am so lucky to be part of HVP School that provided us this golden opportunity of widening my (my friend’s) horizon out of bookish knowledge. I am at the same time very much Thankful to YSP and HVP Nepal that organized this beautiful tour. I would like to wish all the best for YSP Team for their future progress and hope they would keep on marching to restablish peace that is sure to be restored.
